So many people like you have given to the West Seattle YMCA expansion — donating more than $3,760,000 so far. Thank you for caring about your community! We’ve nearly reached our $4 million goal and we need your support to make it to the finish line.
Two incredible families have joined forces to provide you with an incentive to give for the first time, or give again.
“We want this match to help inspire people to join the effort for the first time or re-invest. Please give, and we will double your gift today!” – Bob and Sue Chamberlain, Liann and Steve Sundquist
Sue and Bob Chamberlain along with Liann and Steve Sundquist are offering a total of $100,000 in a challenge fund to finish the project, but only if people like you donate.

One of the satisfying things about giving to a capital campaign is that you can see your dollars at work with each new room that is built! Beginning September 9, come take a peek at the three rooms that make up the Kids Zone. These new spaces give infants to tweens age-appropriate places to be active and have fun while their parents and caregivers work out at the Y.
Adventure Zone, a space for our preschoolers to climb, tumble and explore while their parents are working out. The door on the left leads to the exciting outdoor play area.
Kids Zone construction is moving along quickly, with an expected completion date in early September! Drywall is up throughout the wing and painting has already begun.
As of this morning, we have a new entrance on the south side of the building. You’ll enter into the building into the former cardiovascular strength room near the pool. The south parking lot has reopened, too.
Big changes happening during closure week. All of the cardiovascular and strength training equipment has been moved into the gymnasium. Most of the cardio/strength room will be walled off for construction while the main entrance and membership desk will take up the remainder of the room.
Are you curious as to what is happening behind this construction wall? Our new Kids Zone is under construction with an expected completion in late summer!
We heard the question from many of our members – “Why is that last chunk of building still standing?”
