HOT TUB CLOSED
Thanks for your patience as we maneuver major changes over the past few weeks!
We are still working to resolve the hot tub issue and apologize for the delay. We identified a problem during our installation of new gas service and are working with our engineers to determine the right long term solution. We expect to have a plan and timeline by the end of this week that we can communicate to you. The Steam Room and Dry Sauna remain open.
We apologize for this inconvenience and look forward to getting it fixed.
As of this morning, we have a new entrance on the south side of the building. You’ll enter into the building into the former cardiovascular strength room near the pool. The south parking lot has reopened, too.
Our main entrance will be moving overnight to it’s new location on SW Snoqulamie Street. Members and Participants will use the new entrance Wednesday morning, July 13. The new entrance will use the emergency exit door in our former cardiovascular strength room next to the pool windows. Our south parking lot will reopen, however the east parking lot will close.
Starting Monday, June 20 through Friday, July 1, Snoqualmie Street will only be available to traffic for local access during the construction weekday, which is typically Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm. We suggest you use Alaska St or Oregon St as alternatives. Street parking on Snoqualmie Street will be closed.
KIDS GYM MOVES
On Monday, June 6, Kids Gym will move to the American Legion Building located one block south of the Y. The address is 3618 SW Alaska St. You may drop your children off before checking in at the main facility. While in this temporary space, Kids Gym will feel a bit different and so, we’ve renamed it Camp Legion!
Hours remain the same, though may change at a future date.
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 1:00pm
- Monday to Thursday, 4:00 to 8:00pm
- Friday, 4:00 to 6:00pm
- Saturday, 8:45am to 12:30pm
Beginning Monday, June 6, all preschoolers under the age of four should use our Studio 5 drop-in child care rather than Kids Gym/Camp Legion.
PARENT CHILD PLAYTIME CANCELLED
Due to Kids Gym moving, we will not host Parent Child Playtime in our gymnasium until further notice.
Please review our revised gymnasium schedule. With Kids Gym moving, we’ll have much more open gym time until late June or early July.
WEEKDAY HOURS CHANGE
For about eight weeks through Mid-July, our open hours at the West Seattle YMCA will be 5:45am to 9:45pm, Monday to Friday. This will allow for a night shift for construction. Weekend hours will remain the same.
Beginning Monday, May 23, the process to tear down the Youth Programs building will begin as we make way for our expanded and renovated West Seattle facility. Our feelings are bittersweet as so many happy memories fill the space. Thousands from our West Seattle community have grown up in the Youth Programs Building as it’s been home to infant care, toddler care and the Y’s preschool for over 30 years.
